Short Goals Update

#14. Finish Emmy’s 2nd year book

We had a scrapbook day Saturday. Not only was it lots of fun, but I also got several layouts done for Emmy’s 2nd year book.  I even worked on a few more Saturday night and Sunday. Now the scrapping bug is back. Everyone wants to have a scrapping day again so hopefully here soon we’ll do it.

#18. Watch 20 movies

While scrapping here at home, I like to have the TV on.  Because of that I finished 3 new-to-me movies: National Treasure: Book of Secrets, She’s the Man & Alice in Wonderland (the Johnny Depp version). Here’s where the total now stands:

  1. The Grace Card
  2. Madea’s Big Happy Family
  3. Little Fockers
  4. 12 Dates of Christmas
  5. Something Borrowed
  6. Flypaper
  7. Courageous
  8. Crazy Stupid Love
  9. Breaking Dawn
  10. Abduction
  11. The Smurfs
  12. National Treasure: Book of Secrets
  13. She’s the Man
  14. Alice in Wonderland

#17. Read 20 books

I also finished reading this little book called The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.  Here’s a note to students who think they can watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy instead of reading the books. Besides the first book, they are very different from what Tolkien wrote. However, I do recommend watching at least the first movie before one would delve into the books. I think it made it easier to keep track of things because I already had a visual image for each character/setting while I read. Here’s the updated book list:

  1. I Still Believe by Jeremy Camp
  2. Middle School Ministry Made Easy (for school)
  3. Courageous (the novel based on the movie)
  4. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
  5. 7 Practices of Effective Ministry by Andy Stanley (for school)
  6. The Castle in the Attic (read w/ my 4th graders)
  7. The Hunger Games
  8. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
  9. Among the Hidden (read w/ my 4th graders)
  10. The Help
  11. The Search Committee
  12. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
